The publisher is calling their Resident Evil 2 demo "1-Shot".

Capcom has announced the long-rumoured 1-shot Resident Evil 2 demo is coming to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 11. It is available only for a limited time and allows players to play the game for a full 30 minutes.

Capcom has revealed that it is dropping a Resident Evil 2 demo on Friday, but it's not quite what you might expect... This means interested fans can still give the demo a try even after the full game's launch. In addition, you can complete the demo as many times as you want but once the timer is up the demo will be closed off.

Resident Evil 2, known as Biohazard 2 in Japan, was originally released in 1998 for the original PlayStation.

This sort of stressful demo might be a great way to introduce players to the wonderfully horrific series that is Resident Evil.

The Resident Evil 2 demo serves up a relatively early portion of the game as rookie cop Leon Kennedy arrives at the Raccoon City Police Station. Leon has to survive a throng of bloodthirsty zombies before escaping, all the while the clock ticks down. You won't be able to play the demo again once the time has expired, but you can view the trailer as much as you'd like.

The demo will be available for download from January 11 through January 31 and will be similar to the demos that have been shown at such events as E3. What do you think about its time restrictions? Anyone who grabs the Deluxe edition will also get a slew of extra costumes including the entertaining Noir outfits for both Leon and Claire. Is 30 minutes enough?
