The NFL ended months of uncertainty Sunday by officially announcing Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi as the performers at this year's Super Bowl halftime show on CBS. Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL in October of 2018, alleging that NFL team owners colluded to keep him out of the league because of his protests.

Kaepernick, who led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2013, is arguing that owners have conspired to keep him off any National Football League team since he became a free agent in 2017 because of his decision to take a knee during the American anthem in protest of social injustice. "Join me in asking Maroon 5 to drop out of the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show".

Just ahead of the big game, Cardi B and Bruno Mars will be taking the stage, performing at The NFL's official pre-game events.

"I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in", Scott said in a press release.

Maroon 5, a three-time Grammy-winning group led by Adam Levine, will be joined by rising star Scott and Atlanta, Georgia native Big Boi, who was previously one half of rap group Outcast. "I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change", Scott said in a statement.

Scott is a Grammy nominee whose 2018 album "Astroworld" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts; Antwan "Big Boi" Patton is a six-time Grammy victor who first emerged as half of the hip-hop duo OutKast. Big Boi is best known as a member of hip-hop duo Outkast, which has sold 25 million albums and won six Grammys.

Talk of who would perform at the February 3 game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium had been ongoing for months, with reports that several artists had refused requests out of protest of the NFL.

Pop superstar Rihanna also reportedly put a quick end to any Super bowl appearances to show support for Kaepernick.
