Japanese production company Aniplex released the first teaser trailer for Haikyuu!! vs. The Little Giant movie. The movie serves as the second and final instalment of the Haikyuu!! final movies.
The makers took to X to share the news.
The upcoming film Haikyuu!! vs The Little Giant is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate which was released between 2012 and 2020 and has 45 volumes in serialisation.
The makers also released the film’s teaser trailer which featured the ‘little giant’; Korai Hoshiumi, showcasing his skills as a volleyball player as well as Shoyo Hinata, and his depiction as a crow.
Haikyuu!! vs The Little Giant serves as the sequel to Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle which was written and directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and produced by Production I.G. The film grossed over ¥11 billion in Japan, making it the second highest-grossing Japanese film of 2024.
The first film’s voice cast is expected to return to the sequel including Shoyo Hinata voiced by Ayumu Murase, Tobio Kageyama by Ishikawa Kaito, Kenma Kozume by Yuki Kaji, and Tetsurou Kuroo by Yuuichi Nakamura. Susumu Mitsunaka is also expected to return as the film’s director alongside music composer Yuki Hayashi and character designer Takahiro Kishida.
