With an aim to bring back old-school rock energy of the early 2000s Bangalore, city musician Blesswin Winco will be performing a tribute to Foo Fighters, the American rock band, in Bengaluru on April 16, 2025.
“There was something electric about that scene. It felt alive, raw, and deeply connected to the music. I feel like that’s missing in today’s live music culture, and this is my small way of bringing that vibe back,” Mr. Winco said in a note.
This is the second time Mr. Winco — a member of the popular country music band, Mudroad— has attempted something like this. Last year, he played a tribute for TOTO, another American rock band, to a sold-out venue.
While Mr. Winco will be on lead guitars, the other band members include Ashish Borde on bass, Jason Sharat on drums, Eric Gerald on guitars, and Anand Murali on keys.
Students of Bethany High School, where Mr. Winco works as a music consultant, will be doing an opening set.
Calling the tribute “a passion project”, Mr. Winco said he would like to turn this into an annual series by paying tribute to a different band or artist that has inspired him in his music journey.
The Foo Fighters tribute is happening at The Raft, Koramangala, on April 16 from 7:30 pm onwards. Tickets can be booked through Razorpay.
