Ajith Kumar, in a scene from Vedhalam, replies to one of the villains if he looks like someone from a Mexican cartel before taking him out. In his upcoming film, the Adhik Ravichandran-directorial Good Bad Ugly, the teaser of which dropped today, the actor looks the part as he returns to playing a gangster.
“AK is a red dragon. If he has arrived breaking his own rules, that means his very breath will finish you,” says a character in the teaser, as we see Ajith as a certified gangster. Is this a hint at the star breaking his own rules and donning a new hat? We can’t wait to see!
Interestingly, the teaser also shows Ajith in three different looks, one of which resembles the star’s look from his Billa days. While the teaser features Ajith recreating his iconic Vedhalam step, the background score seems to be a hat-tip to Yuvan Shankar Raja’s score in Mankatha.
The makers released the teaser just days after they shared a special glimpse of the female lead, Trisha. Interestingly, Trisha was also a part of Ajith’s latest film, Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaa Muyarchi. Good Bad Ugly also features Prabhu, Prasanna, Arjun Das, Shine Tom Chacko, Sunil, Rahul Dev and Yogi Babu among others.
The film has music composed by Adhik’s go-to composer GV Prakash Kumar, who is reuniting with Ajith after Kireedam. Abinandhan Ramanujam serves as the cinematographer while Vijay Velukutty is on board as the editor.
Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar produce the film under their Mythri Movie Makers banner. The film is set to release in theatres on April 10.
