Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s neo-noir thriller Kennedy continued its global run on Friday night when the movie was screened at the 10th Indie Meme Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Mostly shot during nights on Mumbai streets over 30 days, Kennedy follows an insomniac ex-cop, long thought to be dead, still operating for the corrupt system while looking for redemption. The film, written by Kashyap during the lockdown, stars Rahul Bhatt and Sunny Leone.
The packed screening of Kennedy — which is the 27th directorial of Kashyap — had the filmmaker in attendance. “It’s heartwarming to see Kennedy still getting so much love from the audiences across the world,” Kashyap said about the film, which kicked off its global run in 2023 when it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
“It’s almost two years after its Cannes premiere, and I still get invited across the world to talk about it. Back home, my producers are working towards the release of the film, and it should happen soon,” the filmmaker added.
Kennedy has travelled to nearly 20 plus film festivals since it’s 2023 opening, including Sydney Film Festival – Australia, Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival – South Korea (Republic of Korea), Neuchatel International Film Festival – Switzerland, Indian Film Festival of Melbourne – Australia, London Indian Film Festival – UK, Fantastic Fest – USA, Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival and Kolkata International Film Festival among others. Kennedy is produced by Zee Studios and Good Bad Films.
