Senvion India will install a 4.2 MW wind turbine in Tamil Nadu by June, said its CEO and MD Amit Kansal.
Most of Senvion India’s installation are in the 2.7 MW and 3.1 MW categories. It has already received nearly half a GW orders for the 4.2 MW turbines. The firm expects 70% of sales to come from this capacity in the coming months.
The 4.2 MW turbines are developed and made in India with Indo German technology. The total wind energy capacity installed by the firm in India is about one GW. It will install another one GW in 12 months, he said.
Senvion India also plans to export wind turbines, initially to Europe in one year. Mr. Kansal said he wants export and domestic market to have an equal share in sales, and added that the fiirm expanding its production capacity in Tiruchi, TN.
