Soori’s next titled ‘Mandaadi’; Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, and more join the cast

We had previously reported that actor Soori is teaming up with director Mathimaran Pugazhenthi for a new film, set to be produced by Vetri Maaran’s RS Infotainment. Now, on Friday (April 18), the makers announced that the film’s been titled Mandaadi.

The makers released a title look poster that features a sailboat on fire. Further, it was also announced that actors Sathyaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Ravindra Vijay, and Sachana Namidass are part of the cast.

Taking to his X account, Soori shared the poster and wrote, “When the sea carries secrets, the fire will tell us stories,” while also announcing that the first look poster of the film will be unveiled tomorrow, Saturday, April 19.

With music scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the upcoming film has cinematography by Kathir SR and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. Elred Kumar produces the film while Vetri Maaran serves as the creative producer

The film is one of the two films RS Infotainment has announced; the other is director Vetri Maaran’s upcoming film with superstar Dhanush.

Mandaadi will mark Soori’s sixth outing as a hero. The actor has earned a distinct name and fame, having successfully transitioned from a comedian to a hero, a transition that began with Vetri’s first Viduthalai film in 2022.

PS Vinothraj’s Kottukkaali took Soori to the international arena; the film premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival followed by a screening at the Transilvania International Film Festival. The actor then followed it up with a mass avatar in a commercial actioner, Garudan, co-starring Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan.

Last seen in Viduthalai: Part 2, Soori’s next is Maaman, directed by Prashanth Pandiyaraj (of Vilangu fame).
