Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan said it was an honour meeting Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The actor met Mr Vijayan at the Pinarayi Peruma Art and Cultural Festival at Pinarayi in Kannur, Kerala.

“Meeting Pinarayi Vijayan sir was a memorable moment. Before the event, we sat together like a family and had lunch at his home,” said Sivakarthikeyan during his speech at the event. The actor added that he was happy to share the stage with N Ram, Director, The Hindu Group, and Malayalam actor Asif Ali.
“This is my first visit to Kannur. I thought Pinarayi was his (Vijayan) name. I didn’t know that it was the name of this place. There is a line from a famous Rajinikanth song from the film Murattu Kaalai (1980), which says, ‘Porandha Oorukku Pugazha Cheru, Valarntha Naatukku Peruma Thedu’. The line is very relatable to Pinarayi Vijayan sir. He has an emerged as an iconic figure in his hometown,” said Sivakarthikeyan.
The actor thanked the Kerala audience for supporting his films. “The Kerala audience always shows great response to good movies. My previous movie Amaran (biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan)performed superbly in Kerala. People loved the story of Indu Rebecca Varghese (wife of Mukund Varadarajan), and her immense courage.”
