Ajith Kumar in ‘Vidaamuyarchi’.
Vidaamuyarchi, starring Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar, is set for its OTT release. The action drama, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, hit the screens worldwide on February 6, 2025. The film was initially scheduled for a Pongal 2025 release.
The road thriller is set to hit the OTT space after 25 days of its theatrical run. Also starring Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra, Vidaamuyarchi will drop on Netflix on March 3, 2025.
In the film, a road trip goes awry when a man has to fight the odds to save his kidnapped wife. Ajith and Trisha play a couple whose marriage is on the rocks. The film, which opened to mixed reviews, received praise for its cinematography and stunt sequences.
The characterisation of Ajith turned out to be the major highlight of the movie as the actor portrayed a man with vulnerabilities and not a typical hero playing to the gallery. However, Vidaamuyarchi was criticised for its predictable plot and poor execution of some ideas.

Om Prakash handled the film’s cinematography while Anirudh Ravichander composed the music. The film’s editing was done by NB Srikanth. Meanwhile, Ajith will next be seen in Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The film, bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, will release on April 10, 2025.
