Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2’ gets OTT release date

Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, the latest hit Tamil action thriller headlined by superstar Vikram, is all set to make its streaming debut soon. Streaming giant Prime Video on Friday (April 18) announced that the SU Arun Kumar-directed film will premiere on the platform on April 24.

Veera Dheera Sooran, which was released in theatres on March 27, was well-received by the audiences and critics. The Hindu’s review of the film stated, “Vikram’s gangster drama hits like a grand spicy Madurai ‘kari vidundhu’; it fires on all cylinders, with ingenious bursts of tension, rousing fan service, ace performers reaching their dramatic zenith and action set-pieces that hit like perfectly timed explosions.”

Set against the backdrop of a temple festival in Madurai, the film tells the story of Kaali, a seemingly reformed provision store owner, loving husband and doting father. “But when his troubled past resurfaces in the form of his former crime boss, Periyavar Ravi, Kaali is dragged back into a world he thought he had left behind. Unfolding over the course of a single treacherous night, the edge-of-your-seat thriller takes a gory turn when he is tasked with eliminating SP Arunagiri. As Kaali struggles to protect his family while confronting ghosts of his violent past, he finds himself dragged into a dangerous game of survival, facing threats from multiple sides,” reads the logline.

The film features an ensemble cast including SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan, and Prudhvi Raj. With music scored by GV Prakash Kumar, the film has cinematography by Theni Eswar and editing by Prasanna GK. Riya Shibu is producing the film under her HR Pictures banner.

The film will stream on Prime Video in Tamil, with dubs available in Hindu, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
